According to a public image survey commissioned by Rotary International in 2010, people are much more likely to know about Rotary and perceive it positively as a charitable organization if they personally know a Rotarian. The finding is just one of many that could shape how clubs and districts promote Rotary in their communities.

	OUR CLUB	LAUNCH OF SAILABILITY YACHT “MERMAID”	What is Rotary?
	ROTARY CLUB OF MERMAID BEACH , chartered on 28th March, 1979, P.O. Box 5477, Mermaid Waters, Qld. 4218 We Meet Wednesdays at 12 Noon for 12.30 at The Quality Inn, Mermaid Waters Resort, behind Lone Star Tavern, Mermaid Waters.	Recently we launched the yacht donated to Sailability, the group of Rotarians who offer sailing lessons to the disabled. MERMAID was suitably christened by PP Col Makin, under whose watch the donation was made. A number of club members were on hand, including President Peter.	Rotary is a service organisation of business and professional leaders, united worldwide, who conduct humanitarian projects, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and work toward world understanding and teach - and encourage fun and fellowship in local communities around the world.
	ROTARY INFORMATION Some more Rotary information that may be useful. Club Assembly; A meeting to discuss the club’s programs and activities. Open to all club members. 	Rotary programs have a way of forging bonds between alumni and Rotarians that can last a lifetime. Former Ambassadorial Scholars, Group Study Exchange team members, RYLA participants, Rotary Peace Fellows, and Interact club members are often interested in joining a Rotaract or Rotary club. Many Rotaract and Rotary clubs, in turn, are interested in inviting alumni to become members.
